I need to find a lawyer to sue a manager whom I worked for thru an employment agency? HELP!!!?

A friend a I used to work in a downtown Toronto building for a security company as front desk staff. We worked there for more then three years. Nobody ever had a problem with us. the property manager (PM) changed and the new one didn't like the idea that we were too frank with the residents. Another guy who worked with us didn't like us either from the time he started (he came after us). He (N) conspired with his junior and told him that if he (X) can find dirt on us (A and B), N will try to hook up X for A (me) job which pays better. So X found minutes of a meeting and left it in B's work area and told the PM that B is stealing valuable info. Our security company was called and we were transfered to a new place however it doesn't pay as much. Our own company couldn't prove anything against us and instead they exonerated us from it. I was let gone because I was B's good friend and that was enough reason for them to think that I may do some damage to the building. Please help!!

Well, I was directed here by your request. I'd be happy to help you. But I can only give my experience as someone who has worked in America. The whole thing seems very shady on the part of the new people. However, your company probably has a right (either by law or policy) to move you at will. Even if they can't prove you did anything wrong, the security company isn't going to want to leave you with clients that are unhappy with you (for whatever reason).

If you can prove that these guys intentionally set you and your friend up and you lost money because of it, than you have the makings of a lawsuit IMO and should speak with an attorney. But if you have little or no evidence, it's probably best to take your lumps and move on.

Bottom line, a lawyer can give you the best legal advise on the matter. Speak to one in the area, some will even offer free consultations
