Why age 50 is a problem when finding employment?

Why age 50 is a problem when finding employment?

I am 52 and semi retired and I know where you are coming from.... I have a hard time just finding a part time job now at my age...
First of all I live in a well known college town and when I say everything is catered to the college students it truely is... They willl hire a student before "older people " as they see a future with them.. people my age ( my opinion) they look as a hinderence... they arent there for the long haul.. they see us as just there for a short time maybe just part time... My thing is, they dont realize what good workers people of our age are... we are more dependant as workers and can give knowledge to many things where "students " cant... We dont call off because of a football game or a bar tour *L*... Heck here when the college kids graduate and or go home for the summer they actually stop the busses and go on limited schedule not caring that the average worker still needs to use them... Hey good luck in finding work!!!

Average people are physically unfit after this age (no offense, this is as per medical rules)

Go back to school and educate yourself, its never to late!
I am 49 at the end of the year I will be a license tax agent.
All the best

Because unfortunatly we live in an ageist society.
