I broke my contract of employment now they wont pay me? |
i have worked for this company for just over 2 years. i had no contract of employment for the whole of this time even though i had asked about one a few times. i did finally receive one so read through and signed it. 2 weeks after signing the contract i got a job offer that i could not refuse. my new employer needed me to start 12 may 2008. my contract stated i had to give 2 months notice. i handed my notice in 1 may 2008 and explained i could give no longer notice or i would lose the new job. i received a letter back stating that if i did not work until 1 july 2008 (2 months) they would make a claim against me for breach of contract. They should have given you one when you first asked for it. |
