Need to do a background check on someone. My daughters new boyfriend isn't tellin the truth.?

I found out some things about my daughters new boyfriend today. He has lied about a lot of things. I don't want to talk to her about this. Until I have some proof. He is in the military has lied about being in Iraq recently. He was in Afganistan in 05. Can I get his military records? He also told us he worked for the police dept. He said he went through the academy in Idaho Falls. There isn't one there. Can I call the police department and ask them to verify if he ever worked there? Need to check his employment record. Besides hiring a PI. Which is expensive. Where can I get a very basic background check? Please need some help soon.

I'm not looking for a criminal record from the police. He said he was a police officer. I should be able to verify this. I'm not creepy for wanting to protect my daughter. They both live with me. He has a gun in the house. Before I start throwing around accusations. I want proof that he is lying. She has already been through this once with the father of her daughter. since he moved in 2 weeks ago. She has been paying for everything. If he has a job. Why isn't he paying for his things?

You will not be getting his military records. The police department will only give a background check with written consent and the person has to go down there and sign the consent in person. Without a valid reason, and you have none, the only thing you can do it a on line check and those are hit and miss in th information they give you. You need to be more concerned with your daughter hating you for doing this. No matter what you find out if she thinks she loves him it will not matter and only make her hate you. It will give him leverage to distance her from you.

You can pay to have a credit check or a background check run n him, it is relatively inexpensive to do. That should give you some background to refute his lies. I would contact his commanding officer and be straight up with him about his lies and your concerns. Young girls in "love" are sooooo blind even if you have proof she might not believe you. You can check and see if he has a police record. Good luck.

It will provide you with his address history, work history, criminal convictions, and any aliases he is known to have used. Keep in mind that it will only tell you IF he was in the military. It will NOT tell you what assignments he had while in the military. The specifics of someone's duties within the military are held confidential.

Military records are confidential so you could not possibly know he is lying about that. should try trusting your daughter's judgment. By pushing this you will lose her.

Neither the military or the police are going to give you any kind of information on anyone just because of something you've heard.What you need to do is have them both over for dinner and bring these things up casually.Find out where the nearest police academy is to Idaho Falls and ask him about his training at the Idaho police academy and when he gives you some made-up answer just say "That's strange because the nearest one I found from there is....." That'll put him on the spot and then you can bring up his Afganistan mission instead of the Iraqi one.He'll get caught because one lie leads to another and what comes around goes around.
