Think we are being ripped off. as an irish worker am i supposed to have a contract of employment.? |
my firm hasnt given us a contract of employment. we are supplied company vechicles and we are expected to do two hours travel time unpaid. also during the week we usually work long hours ,(up to 18 hours per day) not every day but quite regularly. we are paid only a flat rate even though we are on the road some times from 5am untill 10pm. we get paid the additional hours but not at anything other than a flat rate. reading this back it looks like we are a transport firm but we are not. we just have to drive all over Ireland, ;before we starty work. in a nut shell. SHOULD WE HAVE A CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT AND SHOULD WE GET PAID OVERTIME FOR THE ADDITIONAL HOURS WE DO.??????????????? Under the terms of Employement ( Information) act of 1994-2001, there should be a contract of employement. I posted two links that might help you. You are a tinker, right? |
