Police Background Investigation for Employment?

About two years ago I had a job as a housekeeper. I made about 10,000 dollars. I did not report the income. Will this disqualify me from becoming a police officer?

It could, due to the fact that it is tax evasion. Be open, honest and truthful when you are being interviewed. If you lie about it, then it will disqualify you. If you are honest about it, there may be a chance for you not to get disqualified.

No.You should file taxes you may get money back. If it was off the books no need to file taxes. Your social security card keeps a record of your income wages. It's call social security statement. It's your money when you retired at 55 years old or at 63 years old and you could still work and receive ssd. And no you won't have any problems with the police investigation for employment unless you have a criminal record.

No but if the employer reported the output on a 1099 then you'll be getting a letter from the IRS soon and THAT might affect your future employment with the police.
