On a reference check what is reason for leaving doesn't match? Will that affect employment? |
My former babysitter left the job because my alcoholic ex-husband was harrassing him. He just got a new job and the company called me for a reference. They wanted to know why he left. I was caught off guard and didnt know what to say. I don;t know what he put down, so I said he was excellent but I wanted to send my son to an after school program. If his story and mine don't match could that affect his ability to get hired. He started the job today and they are checking references after the fact. thanks You're fine. If you didn't shoot the kid in the back, they will probably just run with him No, you can explain to them that you don't or didn't remember the exact dates of employment. Companies evaluate more on the performance than the date matching. |
