Fired for no rational reason after 6 months of employment? |
I've worked at a popular nightclub as a cocktail/bottle server for almost 6 months. I was let go on Friday night. It appears for an error made at the end of the night with the closing media. It didn't involve any losses. It was relative to receipts that are optional. I was not given reason for termination and refused an answer when I asked. I did everything the way I've been doing it the entire time I started working there. New York is an "at will" state. Generally, they can fire you for no reason at all. Putting it in writing is to help the state figure out whether you qualify for unemployment benefits. |
