Additional details...no smart asses please! 2nd post...? |
Filed child support on my kids father 4 years ago....i finally got word from my child support office that their was a child support court order on the way...question is whats next?...i called and verified his place of employment and updated that with his child support office (i live in Indiana he lives in Tennessee)...what is the typical time period until i start receiving some type of payment....after 4 years is this finally it? I also live in the state of Indiana and I have 4 sisters that battle with the same problems you speak of and the answer is when you get him in court they will let you know then. Again; he sounds like an expert player in the CSsystem. Unless he quits this job probably 90 days to get thru the system; even if he files an appeal at this point, he's so far behind I suspect he'll have to pay until he wins. Also expect an additional percentage for the arrerage I have very little faith that you will get anything. As you say, he has been in and out of jail and will probably refuse to pay, meaning he may go back to jail, or will quit this job and try to work where he is paid 'under the table'. He is not an honest person and obviously feels no responsibility for his children. I am thankful that you are responsible and care for your children. I wish you all the best There is nothing next. You wait and see if he will pay the debt or not. If not, then you have to continue to pursue the case through CSE. If he does begin to pay you MAY see some income anywhere from 6 weeks to a few months depending on how fast your system works. sounds like a real winner, my advice, trade him, you let him go on child support, he signs away his parental rights, no kid needs an *** for a father, trust me Basically his obligation begins as soon as he is served with the child support order. You should get it right away. If not, find out from the court what the procedures are for filing a default. Every court has a little bit different procedure. |
