Work contract? |
I have bin working in a hotel in buxton as a chef and after asking for a contract of employment several times i have still not recieved one after a month. i thought it was a legally binding contract and compulsary to have one. How can i tell my boss that its required and is one month enough time to have to produce it for me?? People who have been there months havent got one either!!! He is legally obliged to produce the terms and conditions of your employment within two months of you starting. Some terms are express terms however some are implied (e.g. you will not work for the competition, he will not unfairly dismiss you) He is obliged to give you a contract by law. Is he paying you correctly with your Tax and NI contributions being paid? It may be worth checking with the Inland Revenue. I would ask again for a contract, if he won't give you one I would seriously consider looking for another job. If he fires you for asking take him to a tribunal!
