Employment Contract?

Hi,

I have signed and returned a contract of employment letter for a job offer. On the contract letter it states that the offer is subject to receipt of satisfactory references which are conducted by a 3rd party company.

I have withheld providing any references, and now I don't want to take the job.

Am I liable to be sued or was the contract signature dependent on receipt of satisfactory reference checks?

Please advise!!

Simply contact them and let them know that you appreciate the job offer, but you have decided to take a different path.

Since they have not completed their pre-employemnt requirements, you're under no obligation to take the job.

The way I see it they won't offer you the job.

Quit worrying
