Employment Termination Question?

Which of the following is not a factor that can give rise to an implied obligation to discharge an employee only for good cause?

A. long term employment
B. salary level
C. no formal criticism of job performance
D. raises, bonuses and promotion

I would say salary level, although this is a weird question. If you don't have a contract with your employer there is no obligation.

The reason I say salary is because getting a promotion or raise, having the job for a long time, and having no formal criticism all imply that you have been successful on the job and that the company is happy with your performance.

Getting a high salary is usually based on potential or past history but if you don't perform up to expectations, you won't have the job for long
