Employment Law Question.. If an employer hires you as a full time employee are you guarenteed a minimum..? |
Are you guaranteed a minimum number of hours pay. I was hired by a major corporation over a month ago. I went through paid training and worked one shift. (the shift I worked the supervisor never showed up and corporate told me to go home, which would have been my first day) The corporation lost the account they hired me for. They have been promising me work since and having me attend training sessions. Can I sue for promised wages or the expectation of work if they end up laying me off. It has now been 5 weeks since my hire date and have been paid for only 10 hours. I was hired as a full time employee and turned down several other offers to take this position. Sorry! This happened to me ,and it has happened to others. No, they do not have to pay you a certain amount of hours. |
