Employment law - England? |
if i employ someone for 15 > 18 hours per week, what holiday entiltlement will she have? 4 weeks a year (pro rata), so 60 - 72 hours i wouldn't think she is entitled to anything at all around a third of the full time entitlement. So if a full time person has 20 days then you would have around 7 days give or take. There is no official law about it though, only company policy. If you sign a contact then your employer must honour this. Check you contract and see what you are entitled to. None It should be pro-rata, as a percentage of the entitlement that your full time employees get. Everyone in the UK is entitled to a minimum of 4 weeks paid leave, so if you employ someone for 15 hours a week, say, 5 days at 3 hours, then they are allowed to take 4 weeks off of 3 hours a day, given that they don't work the rest of the day, effectively they have the rest of the week off anyway. I believe it will be 4 weeks and 2 days=66hrs for 15 hours and 79.2 for 18 hours, plus 8 days statuary bank holidays. If you are really mean I think you can include the 8 b/h`s in the annual leave entitlement. The 15 hours=to 3hours a day a/l and the 18 hours=to3.6 hours a day a/l. Hope this helps. Given that you work so few hours, one might be forgiven for thinking you get enough time off already. |
