Continuious employment 12 years job being deleted under restructure have offered 6 month contract? |
what would my rights be do I need to accept THIS. IS IT LEGAL I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD THEN BE REDEPLOYED WITHIN LOCAL AUTHOURITY TO FIND EQUIVALENT FULL TIME JOB WITH SAME SERVICE BACKGROUND BUT THEN IF NOT SUCCESSFUL AFTER 3 MONTHS WOULD BE GIVEN REDUNDANCY TERMS. THIS IS LOCAL AUTHORITY EMPLOYER SURELY THIS CAN NOT BE LEGAL ESPECIALLY AS WHAT WE WERE VERBALLY ASSURRED(WITNESES AND HR PEOPLE WITHIN SAME MEETING) I AM NOW BEEN GIVEN DIFFERENT INFORMATION/OPTION PLEASE ADVISE URGENTLY Look at redundancy rules - you have been there longer than two years - your employer MUST seek to redeploy you in a role which is NOT to your disadvantage, and, MORE IMPORTANTLY must prove that they have done so! You should be in a union who can give you correct advice. talk to ACAS or go to their website Speak to ACAS they will give you impartial advise. But if you have a union then speak to them. they have to fight your corner if you ask me it sounds like your getting a good deal. Ask your Union Representative. That's what you pay your union fees for. I'm sure the Local Authority has already looked at any loopholes to make sure they can do this, but I would still give them a run for their money and get the Union in on this. Can't understand why the Union hasn't stepped in already. |
