Sickness/holiday in employment? uk? |
i have been off sick from work for a few months and am waiting for an operation, my sister has offered me her apartment in spain to have a sunshine break because she thinks it would do me good.would it be acceptable to go whilst on sick i work for nhs but a friend thinks its illigal to leave the country when your on sick does anyone know if this is true thanks..... I am not aware of any law preventing you from going. i don't know wether its illegal, but if the company find out you could be in huge trouble! Think about what you want before you do something stupid. You could always check with your boss, if you explain the situation he MIGHT understand. If you are on sickness pay because you cannot work until you have had this operation then there is no reason you cannot go on holiday.I have a friend who had a bad injury from a fall and cannot work but visits her holiday home as often as she can afford to do so.Have a lovely time . |
