Do you feel it is an ok exception of employment rights to have separate physical standards for...?

...men and women in the police force?

I am talking about the standard physical requirements for women being lower than men. Do you think this is sexist? Or do you think this is perfectly acceptable and justifiable? Why or why not do you feel this way?

Women and men are NOT equal anatomically. Women are built more for endurance and men are built for strength. It's justifiable because most women can't lift as much as men can no matter how much they bulk up. There is also a guideline that you shouldn't be lifting more than 1/3 of your weight on the job. I'd like to see any woman who can lift more than that on a regular basis and not get injured. Do you think it would be fair to have all the men go through a test geared toward women's strengths?

It's not sexist at all. It's FAIR.

Do you think women and men should be treated equally on the show "Biggest Loser"? Men have more muscle mass, so they lose weight faster. Would it be fair to strictly base the performance on weight loss in pounds without taking into account the woman's inability to lose weight as fast as a man can?

You're welcome. Good question, BTW. Report It

equal pay for equal work, and that includes meeting the same physical standards

I say it's Sexist!
Put them to the same test!
Although, There wont be that many woman on the force.

I think it should be directly related to the job and not what sex you are. The problem is that in the past they have set the standards much higher then needed, to make it extremely hard for women to pass the standards.

No its not ok , the physical standards should be the same for males or females. Maybe height could be a little different but all other physical tests should be the same , if not you are cheaping the police force

It's perfectly acceptable. In fact, not only is it not sexist, it's generous.

I certainly don't want to be required to prove I have the same physical abilities as a man... I don't - period. Women are women. Men are men. It's that simple.

I believe it used to be said that it was sexist that women couldn't even apply for firefighting jobs...... well, we got that changed. It seems so whiney & small & unnecessary to STILL complain or split hairs on the matter.

I think this is a safety issue
If you are wrestling a subject to the ground, you do need to be physically able to do it, man or woman
