I am a convicted felon should I answer truthfully on employment applications? |
I am a convicted felon should I answer truthfully on employment applications? Yes. If you get caught later on, you'll get fired, and then you'll have to explain an even larger gap in your employment history. If you're going to make it on the outside, you have to put the felony behind an uninterrupted work-history, so you can't afford to get fired. Get a short term job, if necessary, and then find a better one. Be reliable especially at short-term jobs, though, because you really don't want to lose that reference. Good luck. Yes. YOu'dbe surprised by the results. Lying won't get you the job. Yes. Yes, most companies can do a background check and will find out anyway... yep Yes is the answer of course but you already knew that convict.Just make sure the job your applying for can't be directly affected by the crime you was convicted for.i.e don't apply for a job at a bank if your convicted of robbing one.Good Luck. Being dishonest is why you got the felony. Yes you should. The employer can now request a background check and credit check on applicants. If the application ask for that information but I wouldn't offer that information if it not requested.I deal with applications in my job and you would be surprise how many applicant tell the truth about being an ex- felon. The job you request might deal with security measure and the employers are only looking out for there business. I believe everyone deserve a second chance. Yes you do .And prepare a list on how you're going to stop yourself from committinng the felony again at least in ways that may directly affect the company you'ree thinking of working at .That way you'll be prepared if they ask you questions. Of course you should. If you lie by ommission they will find out and you will be fired and that lie will follow you. |
