I want to know if this is considered legal...involves after employment? |
I used to work for a healthclub and then I was let go by the company for some bogus reason. I wanted to do something about it, but my father told me to let go because Im in college and does not pay much. I then became a member there to used their gym. Few people wanted to know what happned as the conversation went on I told some friends "she sucks" and "shes a liar" etc. My manager then found out that I was saying "stuff" behind her back. (I dont know if this is even considered that). Even then it was 5 people that I talk to this about so not a big deal. She then cancels my membership and said I was banned from this place. I called Human Resources and said they were going to investigate. Isnt this a violation of freedom of speech. Its not like I held a sign up and said stuff about her to everybody. It was a few people. Many people that I asked finds this a dumb reason to be banned from a health club.(Company policy does state that they cancel membership anytime..still stupid Grow up! This is why many places that are open to the public have a minimum of 90 days after employment ends before the former employee can return to the place of business. Many places ban former employees completely and never let them return as customers. This place probably has the same kind of policy and if so, you don't have a legal leg to stand on. Why would they want you around? They fired you, and then you come in and talk smack? I'd get rid of you, you're a troublemaker. you are within your rights sad but no one polices your rights, you can sue but it is an up hill battle, been there got that tee-shirt Sure it was a stupid reason to get booted for. But you can't win in court. Most places have rules and signes posted about solicitation and i think that is where they would get you in court. I don't know who you are or where you're from, but... Basic constitutional law - private companies cannot violate your constitutional rights. So when people cry about yahoo "censoring" comments and violations of rights to freedom of speech - they are WAY off. |
