How can I increase my chances of passing an Interview with a Police Pyschologist for pre-employment?

How can I better my chances? I have been completely honest, admitted all my sins, which are alot, and I am still in so far. But I have been told that there is an 80 percent drop out rate for the Psychological Interview, can that many people really be pschologically unstable? I am going to be as honest as I can, and I guess hope for the best.

Wow, good question. I would like to know the answer to that one myself. I am going to try out in October. That is probably the one part I'm most worried about. I think I'm pretty stable mentally. But I just hope I ace it I think all the other parts will be a breeze.

Do you really have to ak if that many people are unstable? I mean, look at the world we live in, what do you expect? Good to know there are still sane people like you living in the world today. Good luck.

Just be yourself. Try to stay relaxed and if you don't pass there is a reason you shouldn't be employed with them.

I think your much better off being completely honest, if you try to be who you aren't you could make the results go against you. Then if you don't get in you'll always be wondering if lying failed you, at least if your honest you'll know you tried your best. Good luck!

Wanna be a cop, eh? Well, you need to have a superiority complex. Next, alcoholism is a good trait in a cop too. Dont show the shrink any weakness or liberal preferences. Make sure you have a "high & tight" military haircut and most importantly, wear camoflogue to the interview. Guaranteed success!

I would try to find out what kind of Briggs-Meyer profile is suitable for a cop, then play around with on-line tests til I figured out the kind of answers they'd be looking for.
