Legal aid been stopped - any suggestions?

I am going through a contact dispute at present with my ex who I stopped from seeing my daughter with good reason. Court commissioned experts have agreed with me that due to past incidents and her present mental state, she is 4, seeing him would not be in her interests. It has been going on for 2 years and I just began employment in the career I have been studying for. My legal aid has now been stopped, final hearing is scheduled for April and is estimated to reach 拢10000. There is no way I can afford this. Does anybody know if there are any charities or other means of getting financial support? I'm desperate.

I would represent myself but I'm too scared of him. I turn into a nervous wreck when I'm in court so there is no way I could ask him any questions.

represent yourself, the court's are sympathetic to litigants in person and in my experience the courts follow the advice of the court welfare officer anyway so if the reports are favourable to your position, you should be o.k

Get a loan

The best thing to do is speak to your local MP what they will do is get a solicitor to act on your behalf for free or they will pay the fee's. On the other hand if you call the solicitor who was working for you then you may be able to come to a agreement on paying in installments. If none of them work all I can say from there is represent yourself. Yes you can do this you don't need to know all the legal jargon all you have to do NO MATTER WHAT is keep your cool. If this guys so bad which I'm sure he is you will not loose your daughter just because you have not had a solicitor represent you. After all sweets he/she has already done 2 years work for you, that will already all be on file. What I would advise though if you are going to do it yourself is to write a letter to the judge before the hearing in the letter explain that because of financial reasons you will not be represented by a solicitor and because of this you are scared it may set you back. Also ad to it that if they read the file they will have all the information they need to know about your daughters dad. (lay it thick though, it can't hurt) The judge will take it into consideration that you don't have a solicitor. Thats all I can say but good luck.

u dont say if ur on benefits or not if u r then ur entitled 2 legal aide it may just b ur solicitors dont accept legal aide anymore i had 2 change my solicitors because of this reason. if ur on a low income then ull have 2 contribute towards the cost. u dont say if u know y ur legal aide stopped. try talking 2 citizens advice.

If you explain your "Fear" of ansering questions in front of him, they can make arrangements so you can answer without facing him. Get in touch with the Court manager at the County court and explain the situation to them. They can help you.

You only have two options. Either pay it yourself, even though you say you can't afford it. Or take out a loan for that amount of money.
