Florida Elder Abuse Case. Can it be made public?

I recently filed a report against my aunt that is taking care of my father in Florida. I am in Texas. The lady with the Department of Elder said she could not tell me her findings. Why isn't this a public record? Or what can I do to make it public so I can see the findings myself?

It seems to me that if you're the one who filed the report, you should be the primary person to whom the findings are reported.

You might have better luck if you have a power of attorney that clarifies you can act in your father's name.

I would also suggest that you call back the department that you spoke with, and ask them specifically what information/paperwork they need in order to send you the findings. It might be a simple matter of filling out another form, that they just didn't think to tell you about.

umm EXCUSE ME but this is YOUR father, the lady should tell you everything that she knows!
you could always call the local news station, you know wayne dolcefino or maybe a news station in the city where your dad is
good luck
