My grandfather has a neighbor that butted her way into his life and tries to prevent me from seeing him.?

My dad was killed 7 years ago in the line of duty. His mother (my grandma) died a year before that. hours after my dads death a neighbor I'd never met had butted into my grandpa's house and now "cares" for him.She is 47 yrs old, grandpa is 90 and she tries to prevent me from seeing him.It has gotten so bad I can't go near his house without calling for a police escort to ensure my saftey because she is verbally abusive and has gone so far as to get within 1/2 inch of my face (once in front of my 8 yr old daughter). She has attempted to cut off all communication and continues to be extremely forceful but not to the point i can get a restraining order or file charges.I tried to file an elder abuse case with the state (what i found on the web leads me to believe this is elder abuse) but was told that I shouldn't let her intimidate me She has removed all pics of my family & replaced them w/ hers.I know she is up to NO GOOD. What else can i do since state won't help me? She controls all.

You need to go to the Department of Health and Welfare in your City. Let them know that this women has taken over. DHS, will send a welfare worker to check the situation out. Also contact the Council on Aging. Get a Lawyer to step in and give you Power of Attorney. You need to remove this controlling women. Evidently she is up to no good, when she won't allow family in . Have you done anything to cause this , in the past, where your Grandfather probably does not want to see you ? You better move fast and demand that next of kin, is allowed to see your Grandfather. She is probably telling your Grandfather negative , false things. Get someone in to take over.

Good Luck and I wish you the Best. Thanks for choosing me. Report It

MS. Gold digger Has got to go You should see a l lawyer and get power of attorney If not you someone

I am assuming that Grandpa is glad that she is around. Just because Grandpa is 90 doesn't mean he can't take care of himself and tell her to butt out. He may enjoy her company and since she is there a lot, he may feel that he needs to have her around. While it may be inconvenient for you to deal with her -- she may be more of what he needs than you are right now.

IF he is not able to care for himself, you may want to try to convince him to move to assisted living communities or a nursing home. However those are expensive and trying to move an elderly person is like trying to pull teeth. If he is incapacitated, try to see if you can get Power of Attorney over him.

IF you are concerned about your 8 yr old seeing this, leave the kid at home or with a trusted friend when you go visit.

Just call the police, and make them escort you. Also you might call the local TV station news dept. :)

I'm gonna tell you what~~~~this ? has got my friends and I upset!! We are goin' off!!!~~~See we are from the South and where we come from~~~ we take f***heads like that behind the barn for a good ole a** whoopin' !!!!!!~~~~ I MEAN CALL 911 A** WHOOPIN' !!! You better find out what you can do ...I wish I could really tell you~~~ but she really needs to be delt with!!!!

You need a lawyer. Also contact an agency in his area that works with the elderly. Do you know if he is competent? You could force the issue by going to court and having yourself declared his guardian if he's not, or you could simply go get him. You need to find out what his mental state is and get good legal advice.
