Financial elderly abuse!!!! HELPP!!!!!!?

Im being accused of 1 felony count of financial elderly abuse. I feel that i am most definitely not at fault. I didn't take advantage, i pain bills and ran house hold with elder's money. Now the power of attorney is claiming i never had ANY access to use the money, which was NEVER discussed or said. Im scared cause i do not want to go to jail, but how likely is it that i will be convicted. I have a preliminary hearing tomorrow morning, what can i expect??? Will they reduce charges? or just drop them all together???? HELP!!!!!

checks and debit card were used to pay bills and etc. It was agreed (with power of attorney) to be paid 1700 a month for caring for elder woman. (elder woman is my grandmother, POA is her step son.) So my pay was taken in form of checks, every month. Everything that was done, POA knew about and ok'd, after I stopped taking care of woman, he pushed charges stating financial elder abuse. I am shocked and worried!!

How did you get access to the money? Was it given to you, or did you take it? As cash or cheques? Did you take only enough money to cover the bills, or extra for yourself? It's hard to say based on the very limited information you've given.
