Bugging MP's while visiting prisoners; what was the purpose of - well...the buggers?

It is claimed that Sadiq Khan's (Lab. Tooting) conversation was recorded by a device placed on a table at Woodhill prison in Milton Keynes in 2005 and 2006...of course 2005 was the year all Britons should have been worried, with most of wondering if the two elder sons of that nice Pakistani owner of the corner shop (anywhere in England...but especially within the M25) were really studying for university, and who from armed police CO19 - (A Few Good Men...you read it first in The Mail) - would be screaming at and chasing young men on orders from confused higher-ups?
What were the police hoping to secure?

Does that mean, Petit Chou, if Babar Ahmad (the suspect) is found not guilty here and the US for terrorism, can he claim compensation...or am I being naive? So, if the police can do it to people who we tend not to like...be they terrorists or not, why not bring it in for the rest...if of course, they're lucky to have a local M.P. look in on their case. God knows what Harold Wilson - Old Labour - was thinking about in 1966 when his government passed it (the Wilson Doctrine). Tony Blair - New Labour - scrapped the eventual ban on tapping MPs' telephones. It's just a shame Mr. Khan will have to face the moronic side of the press over the next few weeks.

If an Islamic MP and a terrorist suspect were in conversation it was surely very appropriate the conversation was bugged? The idea that MPs are trustworthy has been blown sky high in recent weeks as MPs of both the main parities have been caught with their trousers down as being on the fiddle. This does seem to be just the tip of a very large iceberg of a very tacky collection of people.

Furthermore everybody knows that Islamic terrorists have not only carried out some appalling acts of murder of innocent people in Britain, but are hell bent on doing it again and again. We also know that Islamic names featuring in news report after news report about criminal activity in the U.K.

The Police and intelligence services have a job to do and this report seems to indicate they are doing it better than they used to in the very best interests of the population of this country and particularly in the best interests of decent law abiding Muslims in Britain.

to try and get imformation , i think they did right

I am more interested in who called for the bugging to be done. How do they know it was by a device placed on a table unless whoever was in the room knew all about it. Did Mr Khan not suspect the device? Do the police or the secret services or indeed the government suspect Mr Khan and or his motives? Bugging per se does not bother me, particularly in the case of suspected terrorists. In fact widespread bugging of politicians in general might make them more likely to behave or at least give the electorate a better idea of the double standards that exist in politics..

I don't see what the fuss is all about, though apparently nothing was "overheard" I reckon whoever's idea it was would have been a sensible thing to do at the time...wasn't the prisoner a terrorist suspect anyway... can't remember the ins and outs of the story ...it's not as if they were BOTH politicians is it? So, I would say it should be a routine op if the detainee is a suspect.

the safety of my grand children are of more importance than some two faced Muslim MPs dented ego. the questions to be asked are, what was an MP doing there in the first place? (don't give me this 'he was my constituent bullshit) and the fact is that the MP was a Muslim going to visit hes friend A TERRORIST!!!.....we are governed by gullible witless morons in this country. i will quote from the Muslims own government.....( Alla's labour party) if you've nothing to hide, what are you afraid of???? want to know what Muslims are up to in our country ....read this. ( care of a very astute lady) http://www.socialcohesion.co.uk/pubs/aml... .....be very concerned for the future of your children.

The MP and The Inmate have lost the trust of The majority of British People. I am surprised you cannot see why that is.

Conversations between brother muslims in a prison, where one of the two parties is awaiting extradiition on terrorism charges - what's the problem ???

Due to the number of so called "British" muslims being caught with terrorist materials, visits to terrorist training camps, caught "On Holiday" in Iraq/Afghanaistan, or caught blowing up tubes/busses/airports - there should be MORE surveillance !!!
