No wonder the health service is in so bad a state? |
my elder sister who lives in Holland has recently lost her husband naturally our father (we lost our mother 7 years ago) and I wanted to be near her in her hour of needas did my father he has worked for the Health service for almost 30 years now and took just 2 days off work to attend the Funeral as he was not alloud any more time he then asked his boss who has been there less time than him (about 10 years) if he could take this time as compastionate or special leave he was told by his boss that he (his boss) quote "would have to touch base with HR (human recorces) to find out my father has never asked for time off before except when our mother passed away then he was given three days so my question is when it gets to this point that the health service has to go from one department to another to find out this sort of information does it prove that the reason the health service is in such a bad state because there are to many managers and PC people running it I am very sorry for your loss I agree with you though 100% if your fathers so called boss hasnt got enough inteligence to sort out the problem by himself (after all if he is a so called manager he should be able to do this) he dosent deserve the job there are to many PC mangers running the health service theses days if they got rid of them and spent the cash on patient care it would be a much better health service Sorry for your loss. Oh yes, bang on...not just the health service, but all public service...have you ever looked in classified job ads lately...not looking for Doctors, Nurses, Police Officers etc but Managers and admin wallahs....sad state of affairs, all empire builders. Yeah, gee, you sure look good! too many office chiefs he probably has to see about "paid" time off, since there are certain guidlines that are agreed upon on how long and when its paid.Depending on who the relative is in relation to the employee. I think you will find, any organisation will not let you have compassionate leave for anyone other than close family,in laws dont come into that category. i personally feel that our health care is is so high because the company's have total control (doc, hospitals, etc) these big company's are getting rich off us and we let them, what choise do we really have,we all need health care.sorry for your loss. Sorry for your loss. I'm sorry to hear of the loss. My sympathies. I have numerous acquaintances in The Netherlands. All tell me that the healthcare system there is excellent. |
