Have you tried your local Trustees office? They usually can help in these situations. You can find them in the phone book or by looking online. Try the city directory.
Here in Indiana, we have "Townships" and the Trustees normally are through them.. however, there may be some in your area for your county or city.

Good luck. I hope if nothing else works, you can go stay with family.

I am not aware of any federal programs to help with living expenses directly. I believe welfare funding on the federal level is given to the states to distribute. I wish you well and hope you can find a way.

Generally, the local employment office maintains information on resources besides jobs. These resources include assistance such as those you're looking for.

Wow.. I am sorry.. life has a way of throwing the occasional lemon our way .. have you tried giving your local chapter of the United Way a call?
I live in Massachusetts and work with the local committee as a volunteer to help out with their fund-raising efforts in my area.. We do many, many great things for people that are in similar situations.. And it is a national charity.
I am sure that if you get in contact with them, they will be able to offer some immediate assistance. And, they will have all the contacts necessary to figure out how best to solve your temporary crisis.. Take a look at the yellow pages of the phone book .. it should be listed under the heading for 'Charitable Organizations'.
I wish you the very best of luck with this :)

As for federal I am not sure. But many state workforce programs offer substance to situations like yours. I was in the same boat, minus the kids part, and was offered help after I sought it. Try your states unemployment website and there should be links to substance compensation for rent and food. But you will most likey have to call for exact details...good luck...

Yes go to the department of job and rehab services, also D.H.S. and get the assistance...

Good Afternoon Mrs.

I know you probbly heard of everything and anything; However, have you tried Habate for Humanities? See if they can help out. Other then that, try to find some time of extra work on the said perhaps find a Temp Agency.

Best of luck to you.

Unfortunately, Florida is a strongly conservative state, so you are probably out of luck.
I made my brother and his family exhaust EVERY possibility here in Florida when they lost their home (and moved into mine), and really...there isn't much for you.
Do you have friends or relatives that can put you up? In another state, maybe? Maybe a lover who can help out? These are really your best bets.
Perhaps your doctor can order you into an ALF or Skilled Nursing facility? (Medicare should cover the bulk of the tab).

Hate to ask, but have you tried Social Services. Yes, I'm suggesting welfare...but only until you can get back on your feet, again. Also, you might ask you minister, or even the Salvation Army.
Sorry I can't suggest anything else to help you. I've been there too, and I know how frustrating it is.
Actually the very best thing is to ask the God of your understanding, for strength and guidance.
Good Luck!!!!!
