Will A DWI Conviction prevent me from becoming a teacher in ct?

I recieved a dwi in 2006 but I participated in the state's "Alcohol Education Program," so I am fairly certain that this was expunged and will not show up on a background check. Unfortunately, I was arrested and convicted of a DWI in Feb '08. I have since started attending AA meetings and have remained sober. I have a strong GPA at a well known university and wish to pursue a career as a teacher. Most people I talk to tend to eqivocate on the matter, so I was wondering, does anyone know, with any certanity, how stringent Ct is when it comes to becoming a teacher. Any help would be greatly appeciated

I can't honestly say about the job in CT.

However, the odds are overwhelming that both DWI's will show up when they run your background unless things in CT are much different than in MO.

I personally know that in PA DUIs are very serious but it doesn't necessarily bar you from becoming a teacher. Personally the Pricipal at my former High School had several DUIs and he was the PRINCIPAL so... I believe you should be fine and I doubt that your first DUI will even show up because I also had one but had the charges dropped due to our own state's Alcohol Education Program which here is referred to as ARD.

i honestly dont know so im just writing to give you the best of luck i hope this does not reflect on the rest of your life
