Will A DWI Conviction prevent me from becoming a teacher in ct? |
I recieved a dwi in 2006 but I participated in the state's "Alcohol Education Program," so I am fairly certain that this was expunged and will not show up on a background check. Unfortunately, I was arrested and convicted of a DWI in Feb '08. I have since started attending AA meetings and have remained sober. I have a strong GPA at a well known university and wish to pursue a career as a teacher. Most people I talk to tend to eqivocate on the matter, so I was wondering, does anyone know, with any certanity, how stringent Ct is when it comes to becoming a teacher. Any help would be greatly appeciated I can't honestly say about the job in CT. I personally know that in PA DUIs are very serious but it doesn't necessarily bar you from becoming a teacher. Personally the Pricipal at my former High School had several DUIs and he was the PRINCIPAL so... I believe you should be fine and I doubt that your first DUI will even show up because I also had one but had the charges dropped due to our own state's Alcohol Education Program which here is referred to as ARD. i honestly dont know so im just writing to give you the best of luck i hope this does not reflect on the rest of your life |
