Please help interpet what this driving rule means?

Hello everyone,

Let me tell you my situation. I have a Texas Driver's Permit, I've had it for longer than 6 months and obtained it by taking driver's ed a while back.

I am 18 now and still have my permit, no license. My question: when I attempt to obtain my driver's license, will I stil have to take a "driving test"?

I found a section in the official Texas driving book that I may think have the answer to my question but I want you guys to take a look at it:

2. EXAMINATION鈥擳he road signs, rules, and driving tests are not required
for applicants who surrender a valid out-of-state license. Applicants ages 15-
18 are not required to take a driving test if they present a Texas Driver
Education Certificate stating that the person has completed both classroom
and laboratory phases of the Texas Driver and Traffic Safety Education
Course, or a Department approved course.

So does this mean, me being 18, I won't have to take a driving test?

if you have the certificate that is mentioned, then no you don't.

you won't have to take the actual driving test but you may have to take another test on the computer, just to ensure your able to drive.

hey get make one new license when u are of 18. that is ur permanent license and after that u just had to renew it...
