What are ex-felons supposed to do? |
Why does the system make it so hard for a felon to make something of their life? There are truly reformed ppl in this world who have made mistakes but are truly repentful of that, but with the way the system is it doesnt give them a chance to prove to society that they are changed...thats why the rate of a felon going back to jail is so high, they get out and cant find jobs, housing, or sometimes cant even go to school to further their education(like it would do any good because they still wouldn't get the job with a background) so what can they do? America can go overseas and help ppl in 3rd world countries but cant help the ppl here 1st. And also why do sex offenders get off so easily...you get more time for robbery than raping a child(now they've changed the laws on the death penalty for them...saying it is INHUMANE)these are the ppl that deserve the death penalty and to have their life ruined but in the law eyes taking money is worse than taking a childs innocence...STUPID. Why? child rapists, sex offenders and child molesters ARE NOT included in this ?and should rot under jail...if not put on death row...they SHOULD PAY FOR WHAT THEY HAVE DONE FOREVER...im talking bout robbery,drugs,guns..... People should be given the opportunity to show that they have changed, period When you make bad decisions to a degree you are arrested and charged with a felony, it makes a statement to prospective employers. If given the choice between felons, and non-felons, who do you THINK they will choose if they are equally qualified? I think the root of the problem is that the judicial system is used for retribution. As a society, we've decided it is more important to take revenge than it is to use the penal system as a crime reduction tool. Playing the devil's advocate here, it is true that the past is a good predictor of the future when it comes to people's behavior. Sad, but true. wow. that is a lot.... You don't become a felon by being a first class citizen. There is no such thing as an ex-felon... and they can get jobs. My brother-in-law has multiple felonies and he has a descent job! You are right about the kid thing though! Mistake or not a felony should haunt you for the rest of your life also. |
