Who thinks we need a constitution for Britain?

I think the british people need a constitution because our rights are not being recognised like we are not allowed to prevent burglars from robbings us? we get sued if they fall on our steps
It is ridiculous like our right to free healthcare is now changing due to the simple fact we get less things off of it I mean yes maybe it should not cover cosmetic care but it also does not let us claim drugs they have not "tested" etc.
Also many of our rights such as free education, healthcare etc are being threatened with the masses of immigrants Britain is allowing in which they simple cannot cope with.
Do you agree?

With Great Britain on the verge of disintegration following devolution, is it not already too late to think of a British constitution? I mean, why, and for whom?

Scotland will undoubtedly want to do its own thing- as will Wales! So that leaves England, N Ireland, and the off-shore islands. Many in England, given the apparent unfairness of devolution, are now starting to think of going it alone, without Scotland, Wales and N Ireland.

If this happened, England would want its own constitution- one that ensured that its government was more responsive to the people, than is the present so-called British government under Gordon Brown! England would also want to renegotiate its position with the EU- amongst other things, to opt out of the Lisbon Treaty, for example!

So any constitutional discussions would almost certain fail in the present climate. British History is surely all but over, and it is time to think outside the box!

The things you are putting forward as reasons we need a Constitution have no weight. We have an unwritten 'Constitution' that already covers your worries. Your right, for example, for free healthcare is misleading. Healthcare is paid for by you throughout your lifetime. It is available to you when you need it. Similarly, your taxes pay for free education.

We have a Constitution that is the envy of the world, we have had it for hudreds of year, the Americans copied from it, it dates back to the Magna Carta, do you not get told about it at school? Our laws came from what the people wanted, that's how it's all in bits, and things change so do our laws, but it's supposed to be what the people want not the government. We don't want a written Constitution, because that is is what the EU what us to have, we can't fully join the EU unless we have a written Constitution, that's why Brown and his goons are pushing for one, you know they never do anything to benifit the people.

WE NEED ISLAM IN OUR CONSTITUTION.

You have one it is called the magna carta.

Absolutely!

Having a constitution is fine but who do you trust to write it?
