How sick is this..? your opinion please?

The China earthquake has left more than 65,000 people dead so far, with more than 23,000 missing. Officials have not been able to estimate the number of children killed.

Chinese couples who have more than one child are commonly punished by fines. The announcement says that if a child born illegally was killed in the quake, the parents will no longer have to pay fines for that child 鈥?but the previously paid fines won't be refunded.

If the couple's legally born child is killed and the couple is left with an illegally born child under the age of 18, that child can be registered as the legal child 鈥?an important move that gives the child previously denied rights including free nine years of compulsory education.

Idk chinese are kinda f*cked up in my opinion..what kind of country fines you for having kids and refuses help from other countries when they still havent helped everyone that needs it.

Seems OK to me. Why do you say it's sick? China are trying to deal with the over population of their country with the 'one child ' policy. Very responsible. It presumably has prevented so much poverty - which surely is a good thing.
They haven't come begging for help from other countries to deal with poverty - they've dealt with themselves.

China tried to deal with the looming problem of mankind as long ago as 1977. The United Nations have tried to deal with the looming problem of greenhouse gas emissions. Brazil, India, Japan. Australia, Canada, China, Russia , and all members of the European Community have all taken it on board to try and improve the world..
The USA has not. Even countries like Panama, North Korea, Ethiopia, Kuwait, Nigeria, Solomon Islands, Vietnam, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador and Bolivia have stepped up to the mark with about 150 other countries.
So don't knock China when they're trying to act with vision.

Ok, I've read your question three times now and I still don't see what is so "sick". Are you mad that the previous fines are not being refunded now that the illegal child is dead? Or are you sickened by the law in the first place?
If you have a problem with the former, please stop researching China. If not refunding fines sickens you, you will have hemmorages when you see the rest of the stuff they do. The fact that they are allowing illegal children to re-register and not demanding more money dead children is really quite generous giving their communist history.
If your problem is with the latter, you should have worded your question better and left out all of the unneccesary information.

This is no more than one can expect from a socialist government.

This is exactly the type of cradle to grave government control that socialists like Obama and Clinton want to impose in this country too.

Richard

thats communism for ya.

this is the government to which a significant percent of our population aspires to emulate

You are thinking like an American. We have a similar sized landmass to China, but less than a 1/3 of their population. And we often complain about overpopulation ourselves.

Can you imagine what its like for China? If we had their numbers in the same landmass we would be forcing a huge cutdown in children to ease the numbers of people. America would absolutely do it just as much as China is doing it now.

Actually, the Chinese government is being much more generous than they have been in the past over this one child per family deal. I know that morally speaking its not right. But what else can they do? They have no space left; even with the restrictions on more than one child and how many children are sent out as adoptees to other countries, they have too many people.

If you can come up with a solution to their overpopulation problem, I'm sure they'd love to hear it.

Add-on:

China is accepting any and all available help from all countries. They have even asked their enemy America (us) to use satellite tracking to help them find survivors in the rubble.

Burma/Myanmar is the country that is denying aid for their victims of their cyclone. They allow only one plane at a time, and they immediately seize those supplies upon arrival in Myanmar.

They trade it out with their own food stores (which are aging and going bad); then they take their own bad and spoiled food and hand that out to the cyclone survivors. They take time to write the names of the ruling military junta all over it to make it look like they are the ones providing the supplies, and then give it to the people.

China is accepting all help.
