Obama Voters. Do you believe in Social Equality?

Social equality is a social state of affairs in which all people have the same status in a certain respect, at the very least in voting rights, freedom of speech and assembly, the extent of property rights as well as the access to education, health care and other social securities.

If this ideal situation of social equality were to exist, inequality would not be present in society. However, inequality does in fact exist because everyone does not have equal status, education, or health care.

Here is one definition: 鈥淪ocial inequality is the expression of lack of access to housing, health care, education, employment opportunities, and status. It is the exclusion of people from full and equal participation in what we, the members of society, perceive as being valuable, important personally worthwhile and socially desirable鈥?.[1]

In the terms you describe yes. I don't agree with communism - the concept that private ownership is wrong. Every person deserves the opportunity to succeed, but they only deserve the rewards they then earn by their own efforts.

Many kids throw away their education and their chances, mostly because parents these days are too lazy to supervise and push their kids to achieve. It's time parents stepped up to the plate and stopped blaming 'the system'.

I think Obama will encourage equal access to health care and education, but it will be up to people in this country to take those opportunities and do something with them.

Social equality to the point that everyone has the exact same chance of success is a big point of Obama's platform

Yes. I believe in social equality for the people that are here legally but what does that have to do with Obama.

We are socially unequal now so no one person getting into the white house is going to correct that over night.

Ummmm, Obama voters can't think for themselves....so probably not.

If we had social equality, how could Obama divide the country like he is??
