Can anyone tell me how to find state and school district education laws?

My child will be entering kindergarten this fall and I do not want her to go to the school our address is suppose to go to because there is so much violence at this school that the law is called there at least four times a week but the school district office said i have to send her to this school because the law says i have to even if i am willing to transport her myself. I do not understand how we are suppose to believe something is the law just because they say it is.

you've contacted the district office, which is proper, and not gotten an answer you like. it might be the right answer but you want to make sure before you comply. you have not said what state you are in, but find your state board of education and find out whether your district has the authority to choose your child's school. ask them what law it is, and where to find it so you can read it.

Because you could otherwise be fined. Your only solution here is to change the child's mailing address, or move. I'm very sorry to be so blunt, but we've been through this.

If you have family that lives in a nearby area that has a better school district, you can say your daughter lives at that location and just drive her to school everyday.

You have 2 go to the state your looking for the laws . gov
hit their law library and go from their.

Your state will have an education act. Get a copy and read it. You may find that what they are telling you is in fact the law.

However if it is the act probably contains other areas where you can insist on such things as any student who is convicted of an offense not being permitted back on school grounds or within a certain distance of them.

That teachers must take certain action in certain situations where if they do not they lose their teaching credentials or possibly even face imprisonment.

Dozens or even hundreds of small details which are always overlooked.

Get a copy read it cover to cover and make sure you understand it.

I wud say to go to ur court house for ur town or the board of education and they cannot force u to make ur child go to a unfit school especially at such a young age. Good Luck!
