Are you for or against Welfare rights or state ? |
As we know the definition of walfare program or walfare state is as follow You forgot welfare for Corporate America called subsidies. They say they need it to stay in business yet they pay less than they get. One example is how the Oil Industry is making record profits with some guy getting over $100,000,000 and are creative to explain why they need subsidies. Instead of the bosses making a lot of money compared to their employees these people need to tighten their wallet and pay those bosses less to stay in business. I believe he was portly man from Exxon-Mobile and retired with a lot of money. There are people who take advantage of anything and everything. What about the just released prisoner who commits another crime so he can return to three hots and a bed. Should we stop feeding and housing them? I receive disability due to an injury while serving in the military. Do I not deserve to be supported by my fellow citizens, for the protection and service that I provided? If the "welfare" system as people like to call it is abolished, you will be cutting benefits to all, not just the ones who take advantage of the system. I think we should come up with reform of some kind to weed out those who can work. Now there is a difference from working and supporting yourself. Maybe a person could get employment, but not make enough to support themselves. Then we run into the same problem with people turning to alternative ways to make income. I bet you didn't expect to find all this out when you asked the question huh? The welfare state has created an entire lazy class of people. People who breed out of control to put more people on the dole. The government funds that lazy class by stealing money from those who work. And should something bad happen to a member of the working class, they will soon find they will be given NO assistance what so ever. Only the permanent welfare takers are given a free ride. A working person can't get as much as a loan to tide them over. The system sucks. I know. I think it should be a cash lump sum payment predetermined by the Gov and the state , I would say 4 to 5 grand should get you on your feet enough to get going plus more exceptions for food and that 50% must be repaid before it can be obtained by that individual again more likely to be deducted in small increments from your paycheck over a 7 yr period before you can opt for this process again it again. I'm for it, AS LONG AS the government scrutinizes each and every person that asks for it, and determines that the person actually needs the help,....and, AS LONG AS the government keeps track of that persons financial status so when the person no longer needs the financial aid, that money can go to someone else that really needs it. The government is going to claim that they don't have enough staff to do it, but that's a ridiculous excuse, because the employees can be paid with all the money the government will be able to save from those "free loaders" that are just living out of financial aids when they can get a job. The govt. shouldn't be in the business of supporting people, but at the same time I don't mind the govt. giving a temporary 'helping hand' to someone in need. Suppose I tell you that the government will design a product and make you buy it. If you say no thanks, that's too bad. The government will decide what you need and what you will buy. A large number of people that are on welfare are there because they need a leg up. Fact is, once you are on welfare, it's very difficult in many cases to get off of it. The very existance of some of the "rules" make it very hard to get off of it. For instance, if you are on welfare, you can't save any "extra" that you may have at the end of the month, creating a spend mentality. How many have said "wow, those people on welfare are eating steak, and here I am being lucky to have hamburg"? Well, it's one of those problems that occur. They are required to spend all of the food stamp money, even if they don't need to, or they will lose that amount for the upcoming months, when they may find they need it. If you are on welfare, most likely you receive section 8 housing as well, which means that if you go off of welfare, you will most likely lose that housing, meaning you have to find a new place to live. This means that you have to come up with first, last and security plus any deposits needed for your heat and/or electric, phone, etc. If you have kids and need daycare, you have to pay out for that as well, not to mention the cost of health insurance. If you go off welfare you also have to pay for most if not all of your food as your food stamps would also be either eliminated or cut down. All of this costs money. If you are earning a paycheck, chances are, you will lose most if not all of your benefits, meaning that you will have to pay more for everything. Being on welfare becomes a vicious circle for many people. The welfare system really needs to be improved to the point of encouraging people to save when they can, giving them assistance as they get back into the working world, etc. Those who want to improve their lives should be given the tools and ability to do so. |
