Is it the law to check the ethnic box?

I registered my child in to school did not check box for his color of skin and now the school refused to complete enrollment said I now have to go take it up with school board. what can i do to get some sort of paper work to show saying we are all equal regardless of family background and that shouldn't effect my child's education?

Schools need the stats in order to continue to get federal funding. Doesn't affect your child's education.

I cannot believe you are making such a big deal about this.
Do you have a problem with the census program as well?
If you want your child enrolled in school check the box.
Or are your "principles" more important than getting your child an education?
The only thing affecting your child's education is you.

I have always just checked "other" and left it at that. The school gets all their blanks filled in and I do not commit to any silly demographic information. I was asked once wnat I meant by other and simply said it was none of their busuness. Registration forms are not the best place to express ideology.

its not the law, but it may be a school regulation. Most of those forms say its optional. Do'n't make a big deal out of it.

In the military we had a saying, "is this the hill you want to die on."

If it isn't, just check a box and go on with life
