Gordon Browns Speech at the Mansion House regarding education being his priority.?

Where have we heard this before - education, education, education - same thing but re-worked? Brown and Blair before him made all the right noises but both were and are well aware that we have young people in our country who will not be educated - this is their preference to not go to school and so far very little has been done to ensure that they do go and when they are there to make sure that they do not disrupt the education of children who want to learn. Most teachers would not thank you to have to take these feral youngsters into a class environment as a lot of them are already dealing with youngsters who cannot and will not accept discipline. Bring back financial punishment for parents who will not make their children be educated and bring back corporal punishment in school, Those who will not accept it can leave and forfeit forever any rights to benefits which would be earned on the backs of decent people. Brown in is cloud cuckoo-land, he has no comprehension of employers needs

I say bring back the belt progressive goverments have banned corporal punnishment in schools so now there is no deterent left. and they wonder why so many asbos are now being handed out We had it at school and it taught us to behave and teacher was the authority in class.I am sorry to say this has happened from my generation all the hippy type people who were against it in the 60s is what you all have now.

Just give children a slate and a piece of chalk.
Teach the three R's: Reading, 'riting, and 'Rithmetic!
No need for billions, or speeches, or promises!
Just DO IT!

Gordon Brown will turn out to be an even bigger liar than Blair.

Let's face it, the majority of politicians, however honest and well intentioned they may seem, once they get into power always change.Must be the power goes to their heads and they think they are gods and think only of themselves, how much money they and their cronies can earn, how much they can take off us in taxes, and most important, how much they can earn (wrong word) once they're no longer in power.
Power changes and corrupts even the most well intentioned.

Brown will probably bring back belting children for the crimes of talking in class, cheeking the teacher,eating sweeties,

return to old values ?
