I agree with everyone about banding together and consulting with attorney.

If it has to go to litigation it will most likely take a while and you need help now. Try to borrow notes from one of the better students in your class. Ask your teachers to provide you with any outlines or notes they have. Maybe you can sit next to someone and look at the notes as they take them? Or ask the teachers if they can help you. This way you can at least keep from falling as far behind in class while the situation is resolved.

I was a designated note taker in one of my history classes for a blind student. I'm sure someone will be more than happy to help you.

Good Luck!

I would try banning together with some of your friends and thier parents and consult an attorney. Be sure you have copies of everything you send or have sent if possible to the board of education and anything that they have sent your way. You absolutly have the right to an education. Your doing your part don't let them get away with not doing theirs. Consult an attorney. You might have to speak with several before you find one that will fight with you. It may be that you can find one to do it for free or very little in cost. Good Luck to you.

YES! You need to contact a special education attorney. Not that you need special education...I'm not saying that...but you need an attorney who routinely sues the school district for his clients who are not receiving their education. Check Martindale Hubbell first and see if there are attorneys in your area that specialize in this type of law...they usually won't charge a fee because they might end up getting their attorneys fees paid by the school district. Education attorneys, personal injury attorneys are also an avenue you might research. GOOD LUCK!!!

You need an attorney. You should be provided with an Interpreter. Check the IDEA laws!
