Disbanding the U.S. Dept. of Education? |
Anybody else think this is a great idea? No more dictating to the states what is to be taught. No more state funding by the federal govt. No more indoctrination of our children. No more protection of defunct state education systems. Sink or swim. to Dude-how would you go about "fixing" the American Family. This would mean a change to the 14th Amendment. Family life is a NO-GO area, especially for the govt. The problem is within the public school system, not the private American family. I think this is worth studying....This is a perfect example of how the Federal Government has usurped the rights of the States to take care of their local issues on a local level. The U.S. Constitution specifically was designed to limit the scope and reach of the Federal into the daily lives of State and Local Government. Couple this with the fact that the Teachers' unions have climbed into bed with the D.O.E., and it certainly makes sense to explore this. Unfortunately, with the political climate these days, I can't see it ever actually happening. The Liberals want the Status Quo, and the Conservatives are afraid to even breathe wrong for fear of losing any voters. Well, we can dream, anyway. By the way, I find it ironic that a question about education would have answers so full of ridiculously obvious spelling and grammar problems. Besides the snide remarks about my writing style (I'm on the Internet fool), I agree with you fully. Report It No more useless programs like No Child Left Behide....too bad the program was left behide and unfunded. The # 1 problem with our education system is the parents. We can't fix the education system until we fix the American family structure. It would be the children that would loose not the states. IDGAF we all pay taxes and the education is for the future generation of kids to come. I wish I could say I agreed, since I am opposed to big government, but this country is already way behind the rest of the world in education, and we can't afford to do even less to improve it. What we actually need is a stronger department, not having anything to do with money, but requiring certain curricula and standards. If we turn it back to the states, there will be some states that will teach one science but not another. We need a nationalized educational standard, but a local funding and administration system. Don't be rediculous. Dude and Dna4, We have a job. While I agree that we are in need of a compleate over haul of the public education system in The United States. I do not think disbanding the USDE is a good thing. |
