Should we not have sex education?

When I was doing my twelfth i was bright student. I was very good in Maths, Physics and it was felt I could make it into IIT. I unfortunately discovered p+o+r+n. I wasted a large amount of my energy struggling with my natural urges and trying to be "Good" and then getting defeated after a while and again yielding to it. Naturally I didn't do well in my studies in spite of being a bright student. I feel that is the age when we have discovered all these feelings and are confused a lot especially if we have been rather innocent and introverted. I feel it would have helped me a lot in my studies then if I had had a sex education. I would have done better if someone was actually giving me sex then

I liked all the replies. The intent was good in all.
This is a real world. These are real problems. With internet and so many books, everything is there out in the open in your face. Its not possible to go through school and be an ostrich.
At that age we are vulnerable. We are not machines. Each one of us is different. What is important is to teach children that sex or desire for it as in p+o+r+n and even real sex is natural and addictive. One has acknowledge this. One has to understand that this is going to be there and one must study well in school inspite of all this. I have seen people who have compartmentalized their time into time for these addictive things, time for physical sports and time for studies. These guys are more wholesome, complete and more successfull.

1.Sex education in schools are recommended to have knowledge.
2. Porno is playing on feelings and even with sex education no one can save you from your fall in that pit.
3.In your last line "some one actually giving me sex then"-have you really meant what you have penned or your mind was on sex education !!!!

and your question is
????

If someone was giving you sex? Uh Huh...

oh sex education is overrated . Why in my day we got our education on the street and were proud of it ! Yeah we found out everything we needed to know just by trial and error . Oh and about that poooone stuff. Pleaaaaaaaaaassssssssse! I dont think you could be that bright if you spent that much time with it .

I'm not quite sure what you're asking, but you may be talking about compulsive porn use and compulsive masturbation. Compulsive means you have gotten to the point where you depend on it and you find it extremely difficult or impossible to stop. That can be a big problem no matter what your personal beliefs are concerning the morality of porn (or lack therof) because it takes up much more of your time and energy than you realize, and you find yourself looking and progressively harder stuff because the old stuff doesn't work for you any more. Anyway, you should check out the following sites:

When people are posting questions on Yahoo Answers that they just had unprotected sex and wondering if they can become pregnant from the encounter, I start to feel it should be mandatory. Really stroll throught the pregnancy channel and it will scare you.

At impressionable age, with reigning curiosity, imparting sex education in India, would have deleterious effect on the psycholgy and behavioural pattern of students. it will also blow a death knell to the healthy co-education system in vogue. Better parental care with assistance of psychologists would be a better option to groom the teenagers.

no
i don't think so bro coz
sex is not good 4 the students
isn't it?

No the situation would have been same.

The question is not whether we shud have Sex education. We are all having sex education since ages. This is a must. The question is that who will formulate the syllabus for this. Whether those puppets of manufactors of condom , HIV Testing Kits or other such ????? products of multinational companies ? or educationist who are pupets in the hands of politicians ?
Sex- Education must be education in real sense without having influence of any vested interest.

Reading one good book in solitude at proper age is sufficient. No classes or coachings are at all required. Or catch a good natured married person & talk to seriously in detail when u & he/she have time without any hesitation.

firstly im really touched by the way uve begun ur question
normally ppl dunt accept deir failures but by doing so i really think u can b a gr8 achiever
the question of sex education has been doing quite a gud round
ppl r confused if it is rite or not bcos the indian culture has sum kinda ethics which it does not like to giv up
parents feel uncomfortable to talk abt sex
but in school i think dat shd not b a prob
sex education is necessary bcos today's generation is very curious n likes to experiment dat incleds me
but unfortunatly we dun get the rite info n end up in a mess
so teaching it in school would b a gud start
dey must start it rite from the 4th or 5th standaard so dat we dun feel embarasse to listen to it
i think i shd b imparted accd to hte age cos children r being molested even wen dey r jus 2 yrs or so
worse by deir own family
its high time the govt starts putting things in practice
so that the youth can b responsible citizens of tomorrow
i hope u have a brite future ahead widout being deterred by ur past

I think your case is a very great example of why we SHOULD have sex education.

I, too, was roped into watching porn excessively when I was about in the 7th grade, and the thing is, I barely knew what I was doing. I watched it a lot, but I couldn't even explain to myself why I watched it. It was weird, and confusing, and addicting, and while I've since straightened myself out, educated myself about the subject, and am able to enjoy porn and my sexuality in a healthy way now, I can't begin to explain how much better it would have been for me if I had had the good type of sex education- the kind that would have addressed porn, what it is, how it can be good, how it can be bad, etc., etc.. In today's world, when you can barely get on the Internet without running into porn, with porn filter or not, it's becoming imperative, I think, to teach kids how to navigate the porn waters, so that they understand what they're looking at, and can make an educated choice to view it or not, rather than get sucked in. You can't keep protecting kids- they'll find a way- rather, you need to teach them how to approach it in a mature, rational way.

I doubt that you would have done better in your studies if someone had "actually been giving you sex then" . . . compulsively watching porn may start out from horniness, but in the end, it's about the addiction, not hardly about getting off (even though you do, and often).

Hope that helps.

We donot need sex education at school level because
that will compound the problem only.Parents can explain
the secrets in a better way to their children. In western countries ,sex education has only harmed the society.
We should set our own model, need not copy the faulty
system of western world.

yes, it is important
students in 9th class should be given this education
