Is there a law(s) that gurantees the quality of education in America?

I'm aware of equal access laws, and so forth.

I'm curious however, if there is a law that gurantess a QUALITY education, not one that just gurantees education.

Does anyone here happen to know?

Thanks so much for your time.

The National Council for Education prescribes the text books. That is the law.

Even if there is a law, many americans wont understand it (since most are illiterate). LMFAO

The Constitution and many state constitutions guarantee the right to education. Case law interpreted in the 50's to 70's that this right includes a right to "equal" education (hence the attempt at bussing), but there is no right which dictates the "quality" of education received.

Not exactly, but that very issue has been working its way through the courts lately. The Supreme Court is entertaining such a case from Seattle right now. I don't know the details, but it has something to do with bussing, when kids from suburban districts get bussed to urban (and lesser) schools... is that kosher? Look it up at the Supreme Court website, if you can.

Not that I am aware of. There might be, but if so, not many are taking advantage of it. The quality depends on what we put into it and our research of the schools and their curriculum. Each school will be different as well, depending on funding and how agressively they seek to better themselves.
