Is it fair that children who have commited crimes get a better education in prison than children not in prison

the two children who were found guilty of jamie bulgers murder, got sent to a childrens facility where they were educated to a higher standard than a lot of children who have not commited crimes recieve

this means in years to come because they have had a excellent education they will be able to go for top jobs

and no doubtidly because of politically correct rules would not be not allowed to get these jobs

so these children can in effect be running our country

this cant be right surely

what do you think

I think we all need to stop committing crimes!

But your point is well-taken.

that is not always true. with a murder conviction they will find it extremely difficult even with a good education. the reason people in prison get such good educations is because there is nothing else to do and it gives them time out of their cell. if kids who are free would take advantage of the education they are offered you wouldnt be asking this question. i promise you a prison degree is not held nearly as high as a state or even community college degree.

I don't think they would be running the country. Plus they will have to write on their resume where they got educated. Juvy doesn't always look good.

'Cause you know Human Resources is looking for prison educated people to hire. Oh and a G.E.D is just as good as high school diploma.

Not right - but that is life! Just because they got a high school education does not mean they have what it takes to handle a high end job.

I was at a conference last week where a guest speaker was a guy who did 25 years for gang related stuff and in that time earned 2 university degrees - me, I have a lousy college diploma. That sucks!

WHY IS A PERSON SENT TO JAIL?

DO U KNOW?

TRY TO THINK IT HARD.....?

THE PERSON WHO COMMITS CRIME IS NOT BAD THE DEED WAS BAD IT SHOULD NOT BE REPEATED.

IN THE JAIL THEY R GIVEN EDUCATION IS GOOD.

BUT THEY WILL PASS EXAMS IF THEY HAVE A WISH AND THEY WORK HARD .

ANY PERSON WHO WORK HARD SHOULD GET THE REWARD.

AND IF THAT PERSON IS GETTING GOOD JOB I DO THINK THAT JAIL AND JAILOR SHOULD BE AWARDED FOR SUCH DEED TO CONVERT A CRIMINAL CHILD INTO A RESPONSIBLE CITIZEN.

EVEN GOOD PARENTS CAN'T DO THIS .....?

ISN'T IT TRUE.

I strongly disagree that children in prison get a better eduation than children in public schools. What are you thinking?! Can you imagine the kinds of teachers willing to teach in a prison - ones that can't get a job anywhere else. Also, one of the major factors of children going to prison is becasue they lack the disapline and impulse control necessary to society. Without these two important social controls they will not be able to learn anywhere. So, if you group a bunch of them together, there isn't a whole lot being accomplished in those classrooms.

Kids would do a lot better if parents paid attention to what their kids were doing in school.
But the trend nowadays seems to be to lay all responsibility on the State to enable parents to get on with the internet dating scene, or the swinging scene, or the drug scene or whatever facinating activity that distracts them from boring parental tasks like paying attention to how their own kids are doing in school.

give me a break you can't really believe that they will go out and get decent jobs running the country can you?
most of these kids you speak of will go back out and continue to be law breakers. maybe instead of worrying about the education received in the prison, you should work on the pathetic teachers and administrators in the public school system who deprive our children of a good education, because they are more worried about, political correctness, diversity, tolerance, getting along, and other such stuff that has no place in educating children.

I don't know if that's true, what is true, prisoners have a lot of dead time, no distractions, like girls and football or the weekend binging while the average teenager needs to work hard to stay on track, and away from fun and trouble. granted not all schools are created equal, still hard work and staying on course will achieve the required diploma, good grades will get college admission, and money.
