Law clerk education? |
so to be a law clerk, i have to have a bachelor in law then i have to go to law school? Ok, this is the 3rd or 4th time you have ask this question. No, you don't have to have a bachelor's in law. It can be in ANYTHING. But, you do need to have a JD or it's equivalent (in the UK this is considered to be an LLB, but actually an LLM is the real equivalent). As for taking the California BAR, you might have to pass it. I suggest you just call your local court clerk AND ASK. A paralegal certificate won't do it. No, you won't be able to do so without going to law school. The term "law clerk" describes the type of duties you perform. The term "law clerk" is used for many different jobs. Usually it refers to a law student who is working at a law firm before he or she becomes a lawyer, but sometimes a law clerk operates like a paralegal. |
