If a person moves to the UK from abroad, are they entitled to free healthcare, benefits and education?

and a house and free money

once they start paying tax & national insurance, yes. Benefits & health care come directly from personal national insurance contributions, though education is state-funded from tax payments.

depends if they are moving from an e u country

oh yeah just make your way over here, ask nicely we might even pay for your flight! Yep free healthcare, benefits, education, free money, free house, free car or if not car free bus pass the list goes on and on! But me who is from England gets NOTHING! Welcome to Great Britain

you must be able to look after yourself for the first 2 years , that includes education and medical bills

after 2 years you can become a citizen thus entitling you to benefits

what the other person is talking about is seeking asylum , thats diffirent from coming here legally

if you are lucky you will probably recieve vouchers for a Rolls Royce too

I know if they visit your country they are becouse I had a child born there and never got build for it.

i moved from america to the UK and I got NHS card right away and could have went to college if i wanted to.

You dont have to pay into taxes 1st. I have never paid into taxes since i have been here and that is 5 years now (i play poker for a living)

the only thing i had to wait 2 years on if i wanted to collect on was unemployment benifits but i have never used them so it didnt matter

but i married a english girl so it might be different if you are not married to a person from the uk

if you are a so called refugee - yes- straight off the plane straight into the system

The system is changing and you will have vouchers not actual cash for immediate day to day things like food etc. You will have to satisfy the entry conditions, of which there are many, and you will be subject to having all your details checked. Be aware that Britain is in the process of sending a lot of people back to their coutries of origin, so think twice before you commit to leaving your country. Try America!

Yes , they are entitled to all the benefits , they even get treated better than the people that were born in the UK

Depends on a lot of things, including:

- Which country are they from? Some EU nationals are entitled to support from public funds, but not those from "A8" countries like Poland, Bulgaria, etc.
- Are they an asylum seeker or refugee? In which case they might be enititled to some very limited forms of help.
- Are they a child? Under 18s generally get assistance where adults do not.
- Is the person a British citizen? To achieve this, they must have resided here for some time, been granted indefinite leave to remain by the Immigration and Nationality Directorate of the Home Office, and have passed a British citizenship test.

In other words, there are many, many foreign nationals here who are not entitled to any state benefits. If they are entitled to work, they must support themselves in this way. Illegal immigrants aren't permitted to work OR claim benefits, so often work illegally, are supported by someone else, or else live off the proceeds of criminal activity.

No .. only in very limited circumstances e.g if they can show a viable asylum claim .. but that's because they cant work in the interim...

Even British citizens aren't even entitled to free health care benefits and education... specially in England .. where Gordon Brown shall from very soon privatise air and all citizens shall have to mortgage their fair share by handing their first borns to serve as calamities to Russian billionaires or as delectable titbits for the ever-hungry Board of Directors of Santander. Breathing licences shall be provided by Arriva who shall also provide Revenue Protection by making examples of offenders through public suffocations..
