Bill ideas??

does anyone have any ideas for bills that should be introduced to the house education and labor committee?? need ideas for a college project (mock congress). ideas should be to benefit the work force or people involved with education (students, teachers)

I think a bill eliminating tenure would be an interesting discussion... Tenured teachers and college professors almost cannot be fired - even for just cause.

There have been numerous cases of ridiculous misconduct on the part of teachers, and there is such a complex process and appeals process in place than almost nothing can be done to these nutball teachers.

The same goes for some of these unamerican college professors who are constantly blathering stuff that isn't true. And, while they are welcome to their own opinion, they are not giving a balanced point of view, because they will not entertain hearing from the other side of that view...

Disagree with them in College - and there goes your grades.

How about a Bill to ban teachers from joining trade unions?

The vast majority of the problems with public education are caused by the fact that teachers have powerful unions and as a result, bad teachers can't be held responsible for their incompetence, and good ones can't be rewarded for their skills.

repeal the third. make all the papers, get congress involved and amending the constitution is a big deal and has absolutely no effect on anything ever
