English Only Country?

I am opening this discussion to talk about United States education policy on ESL and Bilingual students. Please discuss your ideas on English-only, immigrant students, or any other topic on education and language. This is for school project so please share your opinions, they would be very much appreciated.

I think if you live in the USA, you should know English [at least basic english]

There is a substantial cost to taxpayers to provide multiple language tests, services, etc. There is a substantial cost to society in having millions of people who cannot fully participate in the economy other than as day laborers, gardeners and house cleaners because they lacked the skills to communicate.
