Under the North Carolina law, when should child support end? Should it stop if one continue to go to school? |
If a child schould graduate high school and turn 18 years of age,continue their education at a 4 year college or techinical college will child support stop. no, it should continue until the "child" is out of high school no I think the law is when the child is 18 the support ends. I'd check with a lawyer who specializes in divorce and child support law to get the best answer. Most lawyers will answer a simple question like this without charging anything. I dont know about North Carolina, but most states say it ends at 18. Apparently High School is a requirement but college isnt. Unless you can get it stated in your divorce and get the judge to approve. |
