What do you think about this new Student Strip Search Bill going to Senate?

House bill HR 5295 made it out of committee and passed, and is now going to the Senate for review. This bill allows education officals and local police to just randomly search, all the way to a strip search, any student they want to, any time, based on suspicion only, basically whenever they feel like it and say the magic words.

I think if it passes I am going to quit my job and work as a school security officer. I just know all the cheerleaders are guilty of something and if I have to strip search every one of them to prove it, then so be it. And if I'm wrong.... I guess all have to search the dance team next. It's a though job but I am willing to do it.

I think the liberals havent said a word about this loss of freedom....

It is absolutely wrong.

Why not? If I don't have anythig on me, they can't do anything after I'm searched.

if it passes then i think the supreme court will latter strike it down.

With what is taking place in schools today, this is long overdue. Students are literally out of control today, having no respect for any authority. Is long past time to establish discipline back into the lives of these same students.

where would you like it to stop...how many rights are you willing to give up. Your opinion makes it sound like you want the state to raise children and the parents just pass the blame onto poor government. Children are out of hand because their parents made poor judgements and cannot be bothered with raising goodcitizens who in turn would return something to society instead of just take take take. children are just told how special they are their wholelives and then the real world hits, but its not the parents fault
back to the rights lets search people on the street too and just change their whole way of life.want to live in a free country? If not just vote every small right we have away

Okay, I can understand random searches-- while clothed! But if you allow this bill to be passed with it's full intent then someone please tell me what is the difference from a prison and a school? To be stripped, especially when you have not done anything wrong is one of the most demeaning acts another person can impose on another. Trust me, I know!

it's won't pass, and like someone else said it will be struck down or vetoed. you actually think white bread america is going to let their son or daughter get stripped search.. i don't think so.. so that implies only minorities will get searched... and that mena racial profiling.. and that's where the feds come in... as they will yank school money just based on discrimination.. so I serously doubt it will ever pass.
