Why do Christians want to regulate peoples lives, but not even help them?

I mean if your pro-life thats cool, but why are you not for helping the American people? Support worker unions and more money put into education? Being able to see a doctor. Isn't this supposed to be the "Christian way"? But you guys complain about your tax dollers being spent on "social programs" you guys really need to take a good look at yourselves.

yes pro life, but not for communist teachings and sadly most unions support the liberal teachings and are against christianity.

and most are against public education and for private education since they refuse to allow morals in schools.
We would like to see voucher systems to be used at the school of your choice,

And as for as I know anyone that needs to see a doctor goes to the ER and thy are seen,

the bible has them ALL mixed up, STOP READING FICTION and look around you and see REALITY!!!! MORONS

The irony is that true christianity is democratic and is aimed at helping people. Jesus made it his mission to help all kinds of people, especially social outcasts. Most christians are judgemental, which is also ironic because the Bible clearly states "Judge not lest ye be judged"

First off, quit stereotyping Christians.
Secondly, no I DON'T want my money taken from me. I'm willing to give it (and my time) voluntarily to help others.
Once my husband and I have room, we're going to see about opening up our home for foster children.
I've volunteered to feed the homeless, and worked in soup kitchens.
I donate regularly whatever we can afford to charitable organizations, like Salvation Army.
I DON'T mind my tax dollars going towards education, or paying our law enforcement and firemen, or our military. (Actually, it's ironic, when I was working, I was helping to pay my own husband!)
What I DO mind is that so much money is taken from all of us, and we never see any results.
Besides, worker unions are NOT always a good thing, and throwing money at a problem is not always going to make it go away.

I really dont know. Nobody seems to really be following wat Jesus said. When they collect money in a Catholic church, it's really just for their building fund, not to help the poor. They waste too much money trying to support themselves that they can't support others. So it's really just a lost cause. To be a Christian is to look like you care about God, make a big deal about him, advertise about him, spit on Jews, brag that ur going to heaven just cuz u go to church, and pretend to help the poor. SO not wat Jesus wanted, but nobody cares anymore. It's an unbreakable habit. Meh, we're all going to hell anyways. I mean, no matter wat u do, it's a "sin." Even if u suicide, it's a sin. Damn this bullcrap! Besides dude...even if u post a message like that, it wont change a christian. It takes more than a small complaint to change a religion, and they just ignore u anyway. Mb they'll even close their eyes and turn the other cheek, lol.

You mean the Christian Right, and almost certainly the American Christian Right.

Right wing Christians are a bit of a contradiction - the Bible doesn't say "God helps those that help themselves" or "to them that have shall more be given."

According to "Acts of the Apostles", the early Christians, led by the Apostles, lived in a commune, sharing everything and supporting each other. When one of them tried to keep what he had earned for himself, God struck him dead.

But outside of the US, the Christian community isn't all right wing. In the UK, Christians are usually left wing and reasonably liberal. The Make Poverty History campaign, for example, was spearheaded by several Christian charities (CAFOD, Christian Aid, Tearfund and several others) beause they believe that political reform is necessary to support the poor and needy.

I really can't imagine Jesus campaigning for tax cuts.

You know that saying, "'So&So' would give you the shirt right off their back"? With raising taxes for social programs, it's almost like the shirt AND pants forcibly being ripped off you. In my experience, Christians don't mind giving you their shirt, but they don't like it past that unless it's voluntary... See, people need to support themselves, too. They need to support their families. In the case of Christians, they also want to support their church. In a way, tithe is an extra tax. VOLUNTARY, no doubt, but they're still giving money to a good cause. And, of course, there are Christians who focus their life on donating to charities and helping others.
So, I think you may have just chosen the wrong group of people to blame for not wanting to help. You're looking for the greedy and corrupt moneymakers in aisle five.

Organized Christianity the pentecostal Benny Hin types The "Hair-sprayed and Coiffured Rev. Hin when he's not merchandising himself and his Revelations and Jesus, he is practicing Mind Control over those that are subject to intense suggestion.

Hey Man, they are on a Control Trip, which stems from the false Spiritual Pride they develop when they are led to think they possess the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven and ...the other place..that's a bit Heady...don't you think?

I dunno. I agree with u. Christians want to control people from the people that follow their religion to people outside their religion.

Do you really believe that the only people who complain about social programs are Christians? Time to grow up, expand your knowledge of the world, and get away from a stereotype mentality. Those who complain about social programs come from all walks of life

Ever hear of the Social Security system? It was created by Franklin Roosevelt, an Episcopalian.

Ever hear of Medicare and Medicaid? They were created by Lyndon Johnson, a Disciple of Christ.

Ever hear of the Department of Education? It was signed into law by Jimmy Carter, a Baptist.

Look around you. Christians operate educational institutions and entire hospitals, both large and small, in every corner of the world.

Why do secular-progressives want to regulate everything and make everyone slaves of a "Big Brother" global commune? (See North Korea and Cuba for examples).

My church funds a mission camp for under privileged children and a workshop that helps people with addictions get back on their feet. It helps them train for work, get an education, and find jobs. While doing this it gives them free room and board. Is that helping? I don't want to pay more taxes either. The government hands out money blindly without looking to see if the people are trying. Most welfare recipients are lifers and have no intention of doing anything else. I would much rather give my money to someone who is going to put it to good use, not waste it as the government does. Republican and Democrat alike . If they make me pay more taxes it will come straight out of the money I have avalible to give to our churchs projects

Excellent observation...First off that wouldn't be a Christian trait to promote Tyranny. Jesus was a Liberal, the Pharisees were Conservatives. Read Matt: 27-28
