Is it against the law for siblings to be in the same class?

I'm just wondering if it is possible for a brother and sister of different grade, but same level of education (ex. pre. cal) can possibly be in the same class in high school? Be specific, and have proof. please.

Yes, it is possible for a brother and sister of a different grade to be in the same class. My brother was a year ahead of me in high school, but we were in the same Geometry class. If you can avoid it, I would, however, as the teacher and I had some problems, and it made it awkward for my brother to be in the class.

theres no laws against it

If you want specific answers, you need specific questions. What country, state, county or city are you talking about? The answer could be different depending on where you live.

But generally, in the US, it would not be illegal to place siblings in the same class, but there may be policy reasons why the school chooses not to do it.

Sure they can. What about twins, they are normally in the same classes.

no its not against the law ...schools prefer for siblings to be in seperate classrooms because they believe they need there own group of friends as well as there own individual identity...i have twin daughters who have never been in the same classes in school and they are juniors this year...

of course its legal duh
my brother has been in my class for 3 years

It's not against the law.

It is definitely not illegal. My daughters are 14 months apart and my oldest went to preschool for an additional year (she had problems bonding socially with other children). Therefore, her little sister and her started 1st grade together. I was asked whether I wanted them in the same class together or in seperate classes. I chose seperate classes.
The same would apply for siblings in different grades but, the same class.
Good luck!

if that's the class you are both taking then you are both in it. it's weird that he's in pre calculus if that's right but must have exceled in math or you got left back. the law does not care if you have the same class.

Well at least in Wyoming it is legal.

My 16 year old son and my 15 year old son had a class together last year. And if I recall their schedules, I think they do this year also.

My sisters were often in the same class in high school.
I never was in class with them but it could have happened.

In the school we went they gave you the mandatory classes you had to take, pass and get credit for by graduation. Then they gave a list of the teachers and times. You decided the year and teacher you wish to take the class and you could be in a class with seniors, juniors or sophomore in you freshman year if they chose to take the class then. Or if they failed and had to retake the class. The guidance counselor is the person to see to adjust your schedule.

If you go to a large school they may have several times and teachers teaching that level of subject matter and you can with in the 1st 2 weeks opt to go to another teacher or time or ask if your sibling wants to.
Under these guidelines my son would have been in freshman algebra all 4 years of high school to obtain his credit.
